Overall loved what this wok can do in the kitchen. However after a few weeks the wooden lid became very warped, and the handle is coming off. Our guess is the lid is made up of two layers of wood, and the layers expanded in different ways after being exposed to a different humidity and temperature. Would be nice to have this issue fixed.

I lost my one and only wok a few years ago in a house fire. No, the fire was not a result of my cooking! I like stir frying foods and really missed having a wok. After lots of research and debate, I chose the Beilmeier steel wok. When it arrived (in a timely manner) I was excited to rip open the box and see my new treasure. It was packaged very well. Inside the Amazon box was another Beilmeier box which was tightly sealed. When I opened the wok box, everything was neatly wrapped and contained in a tote bag. Everything was there, no missing parts. There was a very nice wooden spatula for stir-frying and a nice pair of wooden chopsticks. Also, a loofa cleaning pad, and rubber gloves. The wok comes with a flat wooden lid that will be nice for steaming. All very good quality and in perfect condition. I attached the wok handle and seasoned it like they show on their Facebook video. The wok feels substantial without being excessively heavy. I look forward to making my first stir fry dinner tonight. Korean glass noodles. I think I will have many years of enjoyable stir frying with my new wok.

It’s more of a nonstick pan in the shape of a wok. It does work quite well just that it is sensitive with high levels of heat and some sauces with foods will require your attention my suggestion is never to use metal objects of any kind in the wok. Follow instructions that are giving you will be fine.

This is a great wok for electric ranges with flat top burners. The carbon steel heats up incredibly fast and is perfect for the high heat necessary for proper Chinese stir-frying. Unlike non-stick pans that cannot withstand high heat (most, if not all, non-stick cookware cannot be used higher than medium to medium high heat without leaching chemical toxins), this wok can produce excellent results with quick searing and stir-frying. Make sure you follow directions and season the wok a few times until very little color comes off when wiping the oil out.

I am very pleased with this wok. I use it on an induction range and it works well. I seasoned it per the included instructions and had no sticking issues. This requires proper technique: Heat thoroughly before adding oil. Add a bit of oil and let it get hot before adding any other ingredients. Then add ingredients one at a time starting with what requires the longest cook time. Stir while cooking. Proper technique is critical. The natural moisture in foods will create super-heated steam between the food and the wok. That’s the magic of high temperature stir fry! Cleanup with hot water is a breeze. Don’t use soap. Let the seasoning build. It is sanitary because preheating kills germs and bacteria. Enjoy!

I have used this a few times now, with no sticking or rusting. The directions that come with it for seasoning are typical chinese translated and crappy. Google how to season and watch a video. I followed the directions and it worked great, and hasnt had any rust. Spend the time to clean with boiling and using included scrub. After done, wipe with a light coat of oil and put away. Its that simple, it just takes some extra time. If your not willing to do that, save yourself some frustation and by a stainless or a teflon coated wok.

“So far I’ve had this wok for approximately 3 1/2 months. I wanted to use it a couple times before writing a review. So far so good! One helpful hint that I’ve learned when using this wok or any wok for that matter is that you have to let it get very hot before you put in your oil. Once you see the wok start to smoke slightly you wanna add your oil. Please do NOT use olive oil in this wok. Use a oil with high smoke point such as canola oil or sunflower seed oil. Also, when you put your food in the wok you wanna make sure to constantly keep things moving. Setting ingredients in this wok and walking away is a big mistake. Keeping your ingredients moving is the only way things will not stick. Lastly, only wash with warm water. No soap, and dry very well after. Im enjoying using my new wok and hope these hints were helpful. Thanks for a good product!

Well made, light weight,so easy to use. I was amazed how well packaged everything was, anda useful tote bag to boot! The rich wooden handle comes in its own air bubble tube to prevent any damage to it. The wooden cookware is rich and well made as well and its own lofa sponge! The stepped wooden lid is well made as well, no rough spots or chips. The removable handle is easy to put on and take off, allowing the wok to be used in the oven upto 450 deg. Seasoning is easy, and step by step instructions are included and easy to follow. I would suggest that you treat the wooden lid and utensils as you would any fine wooden kitchenware. Just rub a little food grade mineral oil or wood care oil on before using and as needed after. The last picture shows the last paper towel from the seasoning process. A little black is OK! Store your wok up side down to prevent any moisture build up that could cause rusting. This IS steel and like cast iron needs protection from moisture. Reseason as needed. The more you use it, the better the non stick gets. It is NOT treated with any non stick coating, so no icky stuff in your food! I am more than happy I chose THIS wok. I love it, and you will too! Happy cooking!

This product is absolutely amazing. It is so versatile that it is my go to cooking apparatus. I don’t know how I ever made it without using a wok. It is the right size and I’m able to do good stir fry and the seasoning process took a while, but it functions perfectly. I am able to sauté, stir-fry, deep fry and even make popcorn in this wok as it is so functional. I compared many woks as I’m new to wok cooking but are very happy with this product. If I had any criticism it would be that I wish they had included more information about other methods to season the product. In addition it would have been nice to add a small instruction or recipe book had been included. I’m not quite sure really what the gloves and loofah brush was for, as I would have like some instruction to understand what they were for as related to the wok; meaning was the loofah brush designed to be used ongoing or during the seasoning process. I assume the plastic gloves were just an extra. I think a brochure of some kind would have been good to talk about maintenance for their product. All in All a very good product and highly recommend.

Overall loved what this wok can do in the kitchen. However after a few weeks the wooden lid became very warped, and the handle is coming off. Our guess is the lid is made up of two layers of wood, and the layers expanded in different ways after being exposed to a different humidity and temperature. Would be nice to have this issue fixed.

I lost my one and only wok a few years ago in a house fire. No, the fire was not a result of my cooking! I like stir frying foods and really missed having a wok. After lots of research and debate, I chose the Beilmeier steel wok. When it arrived (in a timely manner) I was excited to rip open the box and see my new treasure. It was packaged very well. Inside the Amazon box was another Beilmeier box which was tightly sealed. When I opened the wok box, everything was neatly wrapped and contained in a tote bag. Everything was there, no missing parts. There was a very nice wooden spatula for stir-frying and a nice pair of wooden chopsticks. Also, a loofa cleaning pad, and rubber gloves. The wok comes with a flat wooden lid that will be nice for steaming. All very good quality and in perfect condition. I attached the wok handle and seasoned it like they show on their Facebook video. The wok feels substantial without being excessively heavy. I look forward to making my first stir fry dinner tonight. Korean glass noodles. I think I will have many years of enjoyable stir frying with my new wok.

Like it a lot, especially for stir frying. Been looking for a good wok for a loooong time. Has had this one for a month and like it. Its flat bottom sit neatly on the stove. It’s thin and thus heats up quickly. Cleaning is easy esp since you are not supposed to use detergent so just hot water and be done with it. The only think I didn’t like what the lid, wish it was a look through lid. Hope it doesn’t rust like all the other woks I have used.

I have used this a few times now, with no sticking or rusting. The directions that come with it for seasoning are typical chinese translated and crappy. Google how to season and watch a video. I followed the directions and it worked great, and hasnt had any rust. Spend the time to clean with boiling and using included scrub. After done, wipe with a light coat of oil and put away. Its that simple, it just takes some extra time. If your not willing to do that, save yourself some frustation and by a stainless or a teflon coated wok.

“So far I’ve had this wok for approximately 3 1/2 months. I wanted to use it a couple times before writing a review. So far so good! One helpful hint that I’ve learned when using this wok or any wok for that matter is that you have to let it get very hot before you put in your oil. Once you see the wok start to smoke slightly you wanna add your oil. Please do NOT use olive oil in this wok. Use a oil with high smoke point such as canola oil or sunflower seed oil. Also, when you put your food in the wok you wanna make sure to constantly keep things moving. Setting ingredients in this wok and walking away is a big mistake. Keeping your ingredients moving is the only way things will not stick. Lastly, only wash with warm water. No soap, and dry very well after. Im enjoying using my new wok and hope these hints were helpful. Thanks for a good product!

I lost my one and only wok a few years ago in a house fire. No, the fire was not a result of my cooking! I like stir frying foods and really missed having a wok. After lots of research and debate, I chose the Beilmeier steel wok. When it arrived (in a timely manner) I was excited to rip open the box and see my new treasure. It was packaged very well. Inside the Amazon box was another Beilmeier box which was tightly sealed. When I opened the wok box, everything was neatly wrapped and contained in a tote bag. Everything was there, no missing parts. There was a very nice wooden spatula for stir-frying and a nice pair of wooden chopsticks. Also, a loofa cleaning pad, and rubber gloves. The wok comes with a flat wooden lid that will be nice for steaming. All very good quality and in perfect condition. I attached the wok handle and seasoned it like they show on their Facebook video. The wok feels substantial without being excessively heavy. I look forward to making my first stir fry dinner tonight. Korean glass noodles. I think I will have many years of enjoyable stir frying with my new wok.

I had a little bit of trouble seasoning it at first. No, I am not blessed with a gas stove, I unfortunately have an electric coil stove so that’s the reason why. If you’re going to season on the stove, it really needs to be gas. Electric is not high heat enough. So I used the oven method, which worked wonderfully. Take off the handle if you put it in the oven.

I am very pleased with this wok. I use it on an induction range and it works well. I seasoned it per the included instructions and had no sticking issues. This requires proper technique: Heat thoroughly before adding oil. Add a bit of oil and let it get hot before adding any other ingredients. Then add ingredients one at a time starting with what requires the longest cook time. Stir while cooking. Proper technique is critical. The natural moisture in foods will create super-heated steam between the food and the wok. That’s the magic of high temperature stir fry! Cleanup with hot water is a breeze. Don’t use soap. Let the seasoning build. It is sanitary because preheating kills germs and bacteria. Enjoy!

Well made, light weight,so easy to use. I was amazed how well packaged everything was, anda useful tote bag to boot! The rich wooden handle comes in its own air bubble tube to prevent any damage to it. The wooden cookware is rich and well made as well and its own lofa sponge! The stepped wooden lid is well made as well, no rough spots or chips. The removable handle is easy to put on and take off, allowing the wok to be used in the oven upto 450 deg. Seasoning is easy, and step by step instructions are included and easy to follow. I would suggest that you treat the wooden lid and utensils as you would any fine wooden kitchenware. Just rub a little food grade mineral oil or wood care oil on before using and as needed after. The last picture shows the last paper towel from the seasoning process. A little black is OK! Store your wok up side down to prevent any moisture build up that could cause rusting. This IS steel and like cast iron needs protection from moisture. Reseason as needed. The more you use it, the better the non stick gets. It is NOT treated with any non stick coating, so no icky stuff in your food! I am more than happy I chose THIS wok. I love it, and you will too! Happy cooking!

I received this as a Christmas gift and I love it. As a college kid it’s hard to eat healthy sometimes, but I’ve been making so much stir fry in my wok and loading up the vegetables. I’ve had this wok for over a year now… It’s a nice beginner friendly wok. Here are a few tips that have worked for me… First, get the wok nice and hot before putting oil in it. I usually wait until I see little swirls of smoke then throw in my aromatics. While cooking food in the wok you wanna keep your food constantly moving! letting the food sit for long periods of time while cooking will result in burnt food! To clean it I use hot water only. After washing dry the bottom of the wok, then put it on a low heat to dry the inside of the wok… Do not let it sit in your drain rack or you could potentially cause it to rust, it has to be dried immediately after washing. After you’ve dried it oil it really well inside and out. hope this helps! happy woking everyone 🙂

This product is absolutely amazing. It is so versatile that it is my go to cooking apparatus. I don’t know how I ever made it without using a wok. It is the right size and I’m able to do good stir fry and the seasoning process took a while, but it functions perfectly. I am able to sauté, stir-fry, deep fry and even make popcorn in this wok as it is so functional. I compared many woks as I’m new to wok cooking but are very happy with this product. If I had any criticism it would be that I wish they had included more information about other methods to season the product. In addition it would have been nice to add a small instruction or recipe book had been included. I’m not quite sure really what the gloves and loofah brush was for, as I would have like some instruction to understand what they were for as related to the wok; meaning was the loofah brush designed to be used ongoing or during the seasoning process. I assume the plastic gloves were just an extra. I think a brochure of some kind would have been good to talk about maintenance for their product. All in All a very good product and highly recommend.
